Forecast: Northeast to northerly winds freshening and becoming strong at many places; seas rough on the East Coast south of East Cape; elsewhere moderate but rising in New Zealand waters; stormy and squally northerly winds with rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather: Becoming cloudy and unsettled in the northern and West Coast districts with rain developing and gradually spreading to other parts with some heavy falls; mild temperatures.
