13,000 FREE ADMISSIONS DURING LAST SHOW
Reporting to the general conyrpittee of: the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, yesterday, Mr, M. A. Eliott stated; ■with reference to tlic recent winter show/that the association’s large membership, totalling, Say, 1800, meant at least 9000 ? free admissions, and this, of course, affects the gates. Then there had been over ■- free admissions'to exhibitors, compete tors, school children, footballers, showmen, and various assistants. A comparison gave interesting results. There had been 1668 more adults during the days but 160 less during, the nights, while there had been 674 loss children during day and night, so that notwithstanding the extra attraction in j the shape of evening entertainments that had been put on, 160 less people has paid for admission at night than last year. The smaller number of children; 674 less, was probably due to the larger number of free school admissions.
