BURGLARS ENTER RANGITIKEI ST SHOP

1 ■ ’ - T , - -v : . ; ■ •: • . REPEATED ATTEMPT* ON CYCLE DEALER’S PREMISE! The cycling wares, of Mr.: Georg* Thompson, of Bangitikci. Street, cvidently hold some irrwistible hire iot thieves. Last Saturday night or,9hn- \ day morning, his shop was again enter- . sd for the third time this year, when the two wheels of a practically -new cycle .were - removed. ~ ,Ih all, four l attempts have been rihado to burgle these premises, three of them proving sue*, : cessful.

At the.present time the back door of Mr, Thompson’s cycle work-shop, presents a distinctly battered, and scarred appearance, with the marks of a crowbar or :jemmy; splintering the .lintel. ■ On Sunday morning, Mr- Thompson was apprised by; thcl police, that once again the burglars .had:.been, 'at his ■ workshop. ' Investigation disclosed that a'pane had been removed from a back ■ , window, by means of which the thieves had- gained ingress to the building and . unlocked the door. The jemmy marks are the rehes of a previous visit*, in which Mr. 'Thompson is of‘the opinion, that the thieves used one; of his own crow-bars to force adnUttarice. On this last occasibh, 1 the intruders proceeded into the front,of tho shop and removed a bicycle show there. Evidently quite at homo in their surroundings, and secure in tho quiet of the Sabbath, they proceeded to'- take tho cycle to pieces in the workshop and remove both wheels, which they took ; away with them. Tho rest of tho, by then useless frame, was left to welcome Mr. Thompson when ho 'arrived in; the > morning. The thieves made, attempts to obtain light for their nefarious work, but found the dynamo switched; off and Were therefore,: presumably, .•compelled to use a torch. - Tho police are investigating tho mat* , ter very searchingly in .view of (the J repeated attempts upon Mr Thompson’* premises.
