‘DONKEY’ DOES NOT FRIGHTEN ‘ELEPHANT’

It is the general conviction in Republican circles that in the nomination of Mr. A 1 Smith tho Democrats have selected their likeliest candidate. Mr. H. C. Hoover refrained from making comment. However tho Secretary of Interior, Mr. Hubert Work, who shortly will be on route for Brule in order to submit his resignation to Premier Coolidge at his summer White House and thereafter will assume a more active role in the Hoover campaign declared that Mr. Smith was unquestionably the strongest Democrat in the country and it would be a hard battle.
Mr. Work and other .Republican leaders nevertheless expressed the opinion that tho combination of Hoover and Curtis would prove too strong for any combination tho Democrats would be able to offer.
