Mrs.- A. N, Barraud, Palmerston North, has been visiting Wanganui.

Miss Lee Arrow, has returned to her home in Pahiatua, after a visit to Wellington.

The resignation of Dr Ella Langley from the Palmerston North Hospital staff, was reported with regret by the medical superintendent, (Dr Prank Ward) at yesterday’s meeting. Dr. E. G. D. Gillies, of Dunedin, ..was.-re-commended for the vacancy. ;

The appointment of Sister Currie to the staff of the Maternity Home was reported to yesterday’s meeting, of the Palmerston North Hospital Board.

Miss Ruby Gillies, . of Palmerston North, has been visiting Martinborough. i

The Maternity Home should bo ready for occupation at the end of the month.

Mrs. A. Grigor, has returned to Palmerston North from a visit to the South Island.’ '

Reporting to the Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday, the Matron, (Miss J. N. McGhie) stated that the health of the nurses .had .been good. One nurse had contracted scarlet fever but was. now convalescent.

Sister Smart, in charge of the Princess Mary Ward, and Sister Smith, in charge of the Prince of Wales ward, at the Palmerston North Hospital have commenced duty. '

Mrs. Hill (Dunedin) is at present staying with her parents Mr. and Mrs. B. Currie; Ashhurst .Road.

Miss G. H. Vincent, of the secretarial staff of the Palmerston North Hospital, has resigned her position in view of her approaching marriage.

The street stall in aid of Miss M. Stonohouse’s candidature for the queen carnival was an unprecedented success, those in charge being kept busy throughout the day.
