As a result of a motion passed at last week’s meeting of the council, J. Fowler, a third grade player, came before the executive to give an explanation of conduct that had led up to his being ordered off the ground by the referee on June 2, for using bad language. Fowler explained that ho had not levelled the expression at the referee. On his retirement the matter was fully discussed. In view of his being already suspended for one playing Saturday and in order to satisfactorily uphold the authority of the referees, it was decided that Fowler be suspended for two more playing Saturdays. The feeling was generally expressed that abuse of referees must bo severely dealt with. No Games at Woodville.

Owing to the policy of playing home and home matches, it so happens that on Saturday next, no football matches will bo played at Woodville. Considerable discussion took place over this position but it was felt that though it was unfortunate that no game would bo afforded Eugby fans it could not be remedied without inflicting undue hardship for the lower grade teams concerned. It is a coincidence that all three teams should be playing away and is unlikely to occur again. Moascar Cup.

In connection with, the Moascar Cup match, Tc Auto College v. Palmerston North High School, to be played on Wednesday, June 20, Show Week, at the Showgrounds, Tc Aute College notified that the Cup would be sent forward on June 19.
