AN APPEAL
To the Editor. Sir, —I shall be glad if you will grant me a little space to let the good people of Palmerston North know that next week the town will be invaded with visitors to an extent hitherto unknown and the qiestiou of boarding these visitors has become one of serious importance. In addition to the National Dairy Association and New Zealand. Dairy Factory Managers Association Delegates the Railway Department is running a Farmers Special from the North which will arrive hero on Tuesday evening the 19th., (first Show day). The Department has advertised this train very widely in the North and applications for accommodation are now coming in freely. In other towns v/here these trains have been run there has been some trouble owing to the fact that some of the visitors had to walk the streets all night on arrival and the Department is anxious that such should not happen in Palmerston North .This office can be used for the registration of accommodation and those of our householders who have spare beds are appealed to to assist in coping with the anticipated influx. I am, W. T. PENNY, Secretary, Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association.
