SHOW BOXING TOURNEY IN DOUBT

At last night’s meeting of the Manawatu Boxing Association it was unanimously decided that unless the expenses would bo met by the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Society, so as to enable the visiting boxers’ expenses to be paid, no tourney eventuate on Wednesday June 20th. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs A. A. Woods and Purvis was appointed to go into the matter, as it was felt that without the Pahiatua and Wanganui boys the tourney would bo a frost. Mr. E(srlo Wimsett presided over a good attendance of the executive. The financial statement of the recent tourney showed that despite the very heavy expenditure entailed, a satisfactory net balance remained. Casey v. McDonald. The secretary’s action in communicating with Lachio McDonald, through the secretary of the N.Z.8.A., re a contest with Harry Casey was endorsed.
