WEDDING

HAMLIN—MUDFOKD. A wedding that was of great interest to tho residents of Taikorca and surrounding districts, took place yesterday at All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, when Mildred Lucy, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr. Richard Mudford, of Taikorea, was married to Edward John, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs John Hamlin, Newbury. Tho bride who was given away by her brother, Mr. Gordon Mudford, choso an ivory marquisette chenille for her bridal gown, which was made on straight lines. A beautiful veil of Brussels net with embroideries of roses worked in point lace was worn, caught at the side with tiny clusters of orange blossom, a lovely bouquet of roses, frccsias and azelcas was carried. There were two bridesmaids, Miss Beryl Mudford (sister of the bride) who wore a lemon taffetas and lace frock and Miss Gladys Hunt (niece) in pink taffetas. Little Olive Lucas, made a datnty flower girl in plao blue georgette, while Richard Lind, nephew of the bride, was page boy in a cream suit. Mr. William Hamlin was best man, assisted by Mr. Robert Mudford as groomsman. Mrs Mudford (mother of the bride)

received about 100 guests, wearing a smart frock of black embossed georgette, with hat to tone, her bouquet being of autumn tints. The reception was held at tho Broadway Lounge, which was beautifully decorated in autumn tones, a huge white wedding bell, composed of tiny petals, being suspended over tho bridal, couple, by cream streamers of satin. The usual toasts were honoured. Tho happy couple left later for the North. Mr and Mrs Hamlin will later reside in Glen Oroua.
