MEN’S HOCKEY IN PALMERSTON NORTH

Men’s hockey is well on the upward grade in Palmerston North this year. There arc now five teams with. 77 players in the competition. These comprise 22 of last, year’s players, 2S juniors wid 27 first year players. Schoolboys’ Hockey. ■Schoolboy hockey promises to be quite a feature of the Association’s activities this year. At West End Mr. Con Burgess has several teams in training while Mr. L. G. Berry is doing similar good work at Central. Quite a number of hoys turned out for practice, •!_(. the Showgrounds yesterday, ana there will be eight teams competing iu !he schoolboy competitions which commence. very shortly. Old Boys teams for to-day will be picked from the following: Burgess, Anderson, Borquisl, .Spires, Bendy, Evans, Bell, M'Miiin, Beck (2), B. Sutton, Taylor, Hooker, Byers, Blaire, Gibson, Boyle, Bunean, B. Tapp, G. Bid, Mt Eachian, llumsey, Cole, Walton, ,1. ■Sutton, Bodgers, Berry.
