BIRTHDAY PARTY
A delightful fancy dross (birthday) party was tendered Miss Pauline Donovan by a number of friends at the weekend. The reception room was gaily decorated, and with- dresses original and artistic in conception, the scone was very beautiful. The guest of honour wore a striking “Bambalina” costume and received many admirable birthday gifts. A feature of the evening was the parade of the “fancy dressers ’ ’ who gave the judges, Mesdamcs Barnes, E. Taylor, and C. M. Eeid, not a little difficulty, but eventually the winners proved to be Miss E. Kingsbeer (Ballet Girl) and Mr H. Childs. A special gift went to Miss D. Mullins, who was much admired in her “Tambourine Girl” costume. A pleasant time was .spent in dancing to the strains of an effective orchestra, interspersed with artistic and humorous vocal items by Mr and Mrs. A. Jones, and Messrs. G. Andrews, and Childs. Sup-
per and refreshments were arranged for by Mrs. E. L. Barnes, and there was a specially decorated cake for the birthday celebrant.
