WELLINGTON, Last Night, Evening forecast; The northern storm is centred north of the Bay of Plenty; high pressure extends over the Tasman Sea to beyond the Chatham Islands; strong northeast to southeast winds to gales ' at many places north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; seas very rough on the East Coast north of Lyttelton; elsewhere generally moderate to rough in New Zealand waters: moderate southerly Tasman Sea; , weather fan in Westland and changeable with scattered showers in Otago; elsewhere still cloudy and unsettled with general rain; further heavy falls in the Northern and East Coast districts- ol tho North Island-and in the Cook Strait area with thunder at. places; some flooded rivers probable in tho Bay of plenty and Hawke’s; Bay districts; temperatures becoming cooler.
