' (To tho Editor). Dear sir, —I. commend to the Councillors or Councillor concerned in the bus transport of our town a few observations in this connection on a recent visit to Auckland and in particular tho Bayswator-Takapuna bui service. Without in anyway presuming to bo an authority in the matter and only from the point of view in being a citizen with the interest! of the town at heart, I hope tho Council will view or inquire into that excellent and efficient bus service mentioned above before making any change in our present bus service. The essential features that impressed mo were that tho buses were very low set, making it convenient to step on to them; tho driver was comfortably seated with all tho facilities for issuing tickets and the giving of change; they’ are well ventilated; excellent seating accommodation for 30 to 4«0 passengers; very little noisa when running and a door at back aa an emergency escape. Whilst they are running on a concrete road specially built to supersede the tramway they could no doubt ba run just as efficiently on the tar-sealed roads in Palmerston North. W'o have just, as able and far-seeing men on our Council, and I trust that our Councillor in charge will pay a visit and see for himself the wonderful efficiency of the Bayswator-Takapuna bus service.
