"I have not the slightest intention of penalizing the defendant except that he will have to pay £l3, the amount of the Supreme Court costs,.' said Mr. Mosley, S.M., when William Alfred Britton appeared on a charge of having used the Sydenham Football Hall as a common gaming house. Defendant was convicted and discharged. Defendant appeared as the result or a successful Supreme Court appeal by the Crown against the magisterial dismissal of a charge against him, Mr. Justice Adams holding that euchre was illegal.
