AIR FORCE CONTRACT

AUXILIARY MOTOR-CARS. ORDER FOR 327 MACHINES. LONDON, Feb. 16. The Times .-.ays the Air Ministry has placed a contract for 327 sixwheeled automobiles with the Morris Car Company. They arc of 19 types to meet the specialised requirements of military aviation. They include crash lorries, aeroplane trailers, aerodrome tractors, wireless lorries, mobile repair shops, bomb lorries, torpedo carriers, photographic lorries, vehicles for delivering hot water for aeroplane radiators, and also hot oil, to prevent loss of time in warming up engines in cold weather. The chassis selected are of a 16ft. 9in. wheelbase, and are also of the colonial type for use at home and overseas, where they will facilitate transport on sandy surfaces.
