MAN SOX AND BAKU CDF. Terrace End added still another victory to their credit in their match against the Palmerston challengers last Saturday. As usual they established an early lead, the scores being 14—5 in their favour at the tenth head. Crump drove determinedly in his efforts to save the game, many heads being burnt. The following will play for the Terrace End gold stars: Page, Childs, Moffatt, Johnson (s). SHANNON V. PALMERSTON. A friendly match w r as played on Saturday afternoon at Shannon between four rinks from the Palmerston North Club and Shannon. Palmerston North won by 85 points to 74. The scores were as follows, Palmerston North being mentioned first: —W. W. Jones 14, v. Knowles 17; W. E. Jones 19, v. Spencer 2,1; J. Bell 27, v. Morgan 12; G Stephenson 25, v. Jones 24. Three of the rinks were very evenly contested and some excellent play was registered. These three rinks .were in doubt up to the last head. W. E. Jones’S' driving was spectacular, in each case it being a question of saving a bad head. The green was fast and in good order. An elimination series of matches will bo commenced by the Shannon Club to-night to decide the rink to ■play in .the inter-club competition for the champion of champions at Palmerston North.
