Wellington Nominations. Owners and trainers are reminded that nominations for the Wellington Racing Club’s Autumn meeting to be held on March IB and 17 close on Monday at 9 P-m, Rangitikei Also. Preparations are well in hand for the Rangitikei Racing Club’s meeting which will bo held at Bulls on Wednesday and Thursday, March 21 and 22. The new wire panelled fencing has been completed, adding to the smart appearance, of the enclosures, while. numerous other improvements include an unloading platform for horses arriving by motor lorry, and increased accommodation for visitors and ' horses. The accommodation house now contains 86 beds, and a similar number of boxes and 20 paddocks are provided for horses. The plough gallop is in perfect order and there is a good sole of grass on the course proper. The programme comprises 8 events each day, and all classes of horses are catered for. Three open events are carded each day, as well as hack flat, hack hurdle, and maiden races. The Rangitikei Cup, li miles, is worth 250 sovs., and the Fraser Memorial Handicap, 1 mile and a distance, 200 sovs. No race is worth less than 100 sovs. The principal officials at the meeting are;—Starter, Mr C. O’Connor; Handicapper, Mr. J. E. Henrys: and the Judge, Mr J. Cameron. Mr Geo. Spriggins will conduct the totalisator, and Messrs Dustins Ltd. of Palmerston North and Mr. S. W. R. Evans of the Princess Hotel, Terrace End were the successful tenderers for the catering and publican's booths respectively. Nominations for all events, including the Trial Plate, .and the Maiden Handicap close on Monday, February 27th at 9 p.m. The secretary Mr H. A. Goodall has arranged for the Telegraph Office to be open until 9 pm.
