ANXIETY REGARDING HINKLER

Failed to Tarn Up at Ckncurry May be Down in Desert (By Electric Cable-Copyright—Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Saturday 1.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, February 24. There is anxiety regarding the whereabouts of Bert Hinkler* At 9.15 this morning he passed Katherine, where he dropped a message: “Goodbye Katherine. See you again.” He was expected to reach Oloncurry (not Camooweal as previously stated) before dark, but since he passed Katherine nothing has been heard of him. It is feared he may have met trouble or been compelled to land while flying over the wide, difficult and sparsely people country between Darwin and Oloncurry, Among the congratulatory messages received by Hinkler was one from the King.
