PLUNKET SOCIETY

MOSTHJS MEETING. Mrs. W, Coombs presided over the monthly meeting of the Plunhet Society at the Council Chambers yesterday afternoon, there ' being also present Mesdames Fairbrother, Mounsey, McDowell, Watson, ' Sinclair, Hansford, Grigor, Spencer, Rodgers, Langley, Free, Aitcheson (secretary) and Miss McLagan. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs. Abraham and Mrs. McHardy. Nurse’s Report. The report for the month of December showed that tho number of homes visited was 317; number of visits to office (adults), 669; babies 453; and older children 159, making a total of 1256 visits. The number of new cases was , 24. Parcels of clothing had been received from Mesdames Whyte, and Pogden, and were greatly appreciated. The total number of visits paid to the Foxton office during the month wore 245, new cases numbering five, while 19 visits were paid to the Rongotea office with one new case. •« The report for January was as follows: —Visits paid by adults to the office, 593; babies, 402; and older children, 162, malting a total of 1157. The number of homes visited was 234, and new cases numbered 44. To the Foxton Office a total of 255 visits were paid and there were four new cases. Eight visits were paid to the Rongotea office. The balance sheets for the two months wore read and adopted. General. After some discussion it was decided to hold a garden party on March 28 in aid of general funds. It has yet to be decided where the function will take place. Appointed in charge of the various stalls arq: Produce. Mesdames Free and Mounsey, and Miss McLagan; fancy, Mesdames Mansford, Sinclair and Watson; ice creams and fish pond, Mesdames Langely, Spencer, and Grigor; afternoon tea, Mesdames McDowell and Rodgers, the whole committee aiding as much as possible.
