STOCK SALE
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on the sales of the week as under; — There was a fair entry of sheep and lambs at the Huntervillc sale on Tuesday, 14th. instant, which sold as below:— 4yr. ewes 20/4d; 2-th. ewcs t 25/3d; small Rom. wether lambs, 11/9d to 12/ld; small Bom. owe lambs, 14/6d to 14/8; small two-tooth ewes 20/-; mixed cull lambs, 8/10d; 2-shear Rom. rams, 1 to 2Jgns.; 1-shcar Rom. rams, 2lgns. There was a good yarding of sheep and a fair entry of cattle at theUtuwai sale held in Mr R. Batchclar’s yards on the ,14th. instant. There was a keen demand for ewes but the bidding for w.f. lambs was dull, but y-e report having effected a total clearance under the hammer. Quotations: 4yr. ewes 23/1 to 23/6 4 and syr ewes, 15/-, 17/3, 17/4 t to IS/2d; 2-th. ewes small, 25/3; good 2-th ewes, SO/- small 2-th whethers, 17/S; wf wether lambs- 11/6, 12/6, to 14/-: small w.f. wether lambs, 7/3, 8/1, to 10/4d; cull lambs, 4/3d. 4 yr. S. H. steers, £7; forward cows, £3/ 15/-; to £4/10/-;-store cows, £.3/2/6; potter bulls, £2/10/-.
