But for intervention of polieo two occupants of a motor-ear might have received serious injury at the hands of tho crowd at the Brighton gala on Saturday evening. Mrs. Donald Robb was walking along the street accompanied by two young daughters, Monica and Lorna, and wheeling her baby in a push chair when, at the corner of Seaview road and George street, a motor-car ran into tho party, knocking tho push chair and Lorna over and passing right over Monica.

The bystanders, evidently being of the opinion that the occupants of the car had not taken duo care, assumed a most hostile attitude and were endeavouring to drag the driver and his companion from their scats when the police intervened. The condition of tho girl Monica is fairly serious.
