“STOP GROUSING”
A MINISTER’S ADVICE. A tilt at the ‘‘grouser” was made by the Minister of Lands (the Hon. A. D. M‘Leod) when speaking at the Masterton A and P. Association’s smoke concert on Wednesday night. His speech was one of the shortest of the evolving hut it was very much to the point. “I am not going to say that at the moment there is . much more promise bulking for the man on the land,” said the Minister, ‘‘But there is one thing that wo want to do, and that is, to stop all this grousing, not by the man on the land so much, but by those who are continually saying that the ship of State is up a tree, and that
everything is going to the damnition mw-wows. (Loud laughter.) Nothing will kill a country more than these 1 pessimistic utterances . There is no man in Now Zealand in a bettor position to know the state of affairs of the primary producers than 1 am, and J know the farmers arc speaking more hopefully of the future. Nothing is to be gained by this continuous grousing.”
