WOODVILLE CHAMPIONS

SPLENDID JERSEY COMPETITION The Woodville A. and P. Show on Friday and Saturday produced a particularly strong exhibition of Jersey cattle. In fact, many of the animals wero fit to grace Royal show stalls. The judge, Mr H. C. Sampon, of Hillsborough, naturally, had a rather strenuous task. The bull championship was secured by Mr J. Mitchell, of Hopelands; with his “Ivandal-e Xenia’s Oxford,” while the reserve ribbon went to Mrs. I. W. Spiers, (Levin), ‘‘Kuku Napper.” That winner of many ribbons, “Viola’s Queen Bess,” owned by W. T. Williams (Te Aute), again secured the highest honour, but was followed very closely by Mr R. L. Houn’s (Ohau) "Kuku Brooklet,’ ’also a championship winner at other shows. Tho Gaisford Memorial Cup for most points in the dairy cattle section was won by Mr J, Murray, of Woodville, who also held the trophy in 1924 and ,1926. Mr C. Jones was last year’s winner and was runner-up this year.
