POPULAR MASTERS FAREWELLED AT P.N.B.H.S.
At the Boys’ High School yesterday morning Mr. H. Eliott, who is severing hia connection with the school with which he has been associated for 21 years as art master, was farewelled. The rector, Mr. J. Murray, in a few well-chosen words referred to the loss the school was sustaining in Mr. Eliott’s retirement and presented him with a solid leather suitcase on behalf of th e masters. W. Cowley, the head prefect, then presented Mr. Eliott with a travelling rug as a token of the esteem in which he is held by th e boys. Mr Eliott suitably replied-
On a recent evening members of the staff gathered in the rector’s hous e to present Mr H. J. Thompson with a barometer and timepiece, and this morning he was made the recipiest of a silver entree dish. Last evening he was also presented with an evorsharp pencil suitably inscribed by the - students of the accountancy class at the Technical School as a mark of esteem and appreciation.
