EGGS FOR BEAUTY

Eggs are a popular item in the daily menu of many women, but not all realise their value as beauty-aids. Famous beauties of the past and present have found a valuable complexion preserver in th e white of egg, ■ If you 'are worried by the insidious intrusion of crow’s feet or nasty little age-giving wrinkles, giv e your face an egg-bath. This is the correct method:

Remove the white of an egg from the yolk. Whip it up for a second or two .and, with clean swabs of cotton wool, apply it generously to the checks, by gently patting it on. The egg white will dry slowly into the skin, and will give a rather uncomfortable sensation of tightness for a few moments —but it is during these few moments that the real work of beautifying is in progress. After the egg-white has thoroughly dried into your face, get some warm milk —not hot—and, with some more cot-ton-wool, thoroughly cleanse the face, allowing the milk to dry on after you have removed all the white of egg. Milk itself is a whitening and soften-

ing agent for the skin, so do not be afraid to let it soak in. When you are satisfied that both the egg and the milk have been absorbed by your skin, rinse your face in warm water to which you have added two or three drops of tincture of benzoin.

This is a very simple treatment, and only takes a few minutes. If it is repeated twice a week for two or three weeks you will notice a decided improvement in your skin, and the ageing little wrinkles will eventually disappear. If you shampoo your hair the same evening you need not waste the yolk of the egg! This will make a good

1 hair-wash. Beat it up with a cupful | of tepid water, and add this solution Ito your hair-water, using some pure soap-flakes Instead of tablet soap or , shampoo. Your hair will be glossy and thoroughly clean after you have i treated it to this little egg-wash, i G.M.A.
