It wag reported at yesterday’s meeting of the Y.W.C.A. Bpard tht the Girl Citizens had made a special effort during the month to raise funds for the World Fellowship cause: £lO had been collected most of this being voluntary donations. The girls are also holding a sports meeting to-day at the Girls’ High Schclol grounds. The Hostel affairs were in good order, there bring twenty-six permanent boarders and finite a largo number of casuals during the month. On Sunday a combined service is being held as a preliminary to the World’s Week of Prayer which coincides this year with that of the Y.M.C.A. The service will commence at 1.15 p.m and all Association members are asked to attend. The collection will go to help the work of the world's office in London, and the proceeds £f a jumble sale to take place on November 29th are to go towards the general funds. The question of delegates to the Y.W.C.A. Conference was discussed and Mrs. Barnett and Miss Jean Pacey were appointed the official representatives for Palmerston North at the headquarters at Wellington. The Conference is to take place at Wesley College. Paerata, for Girl Citizens from 28th December to 4th January, and Por senior club members, board and committee people fom sth January to 12tb January. Early in December of Girl Citizens will hold a stall to raise funds to send their delegates. ~A. hearty vote of appreciation was passed to Mrs. Aiilchison for her long sendee and work as treasurer. She has served on the Board since the beginning of Y.W.C.A. work in Palmerston North and her resignation was regretfully accepted. Miss Evelyn Fitzgerald was appointed to the office. A tennis club is being formed for all girls who do not belong to othel dourts and a meeting for those interested will be held shortly.
