FEILDING CATTLE FAIR

FIRM PRICES IN ALL SECTIONS. The Feilding supplementary cattle fair yesterday attracted a large entry of all classes of cattle and a splendid gale resulted. Prices showed a distinct rise on late sales and bidding was brisk from the outset. Beef cattle found particular favour with buyers, and the top price of £l2/4/- was paid for a lino of well finished Hereford bullocks. The sheep section was only moderately supplied but the prices realized were in favour of the vendors, and were easily on a par with late sales. Detailed quotations were as follow— Fat Sheep: Shorn ewes, 19/-, 19/3, 19/7, 20/-, 20/2, 20/6, to 21/-; woolly owes, 22/6; shorn hoggets, 31/-; woolly hoggets, 26/-; shorn wethers, 24/-, 25/-, 26/6, 28/-; woolly wethers, 30/10, 34/-; four-tooth maiden ewes, 25/-. Store Sheep: Four-tooth woolly ewes, 25/-; ewes and b.f. lambs, 32/10, 36/6; owe hoggets, 31/7; small woolly hoggets, 13/- to 23/-; aged woolly ewes, 15/-.
