THE ENTERPRISING SPIDER

The other day, on lifting the bonnet of an engine an English motorist was surprised to find that a spider had carefully spun a web on the engine side of the dashboard. Strangely enough not a single strand of the delicate fibre had been attached to the hinged side of the bonnet, although the web was in very close proximity thereto. As everyone is aware, flies arc drawn through the radiator in great numbers during the summer months, and so. Hr. Spider has his food brought to him in large quantities every time the car goes out. It might be mentioned here that the car is in use every day. Upon returning from a journey the number of flies in th c web often amounts to 20. They are gone, however, by th e next morning.
