“KEEP GOING.”

One of the best ways of getting rid of any car trouble is to keep going, provided it is not of a serious nature, or one Involving personal safety, says an American writer. Many troubles wear out, particularly unwelcome body or chassis noises. Consider the case of rim squeaks. These can be “driven away” more easily than they can be removed on the spot. But the process of driving away troubles usually can be hastened. When a rim is making unpleasant noises, for instance, get out and loosen a few of the lugs. This will change the pressure of the rim on the felloe band of the wheel and enable the rim to fit itslf to a slightly new position. Later tighten the lugs again. In nin e cases out of ten the squeak will not come back.
