(From Our Own Correspondent.) The weather for the past week has been very wintry, rain falling for the greater part of the time, while on Sunday there was a ' dense fog which lasted all day. , Wednesday’s hockey matches haji to be postphoned, so that Kohturi had still to play Alfrcdton. Over thirty guests visited the home of Dir. and Mrs. Ellmers on Thursday evening, and an enjoyable time was spent with cards and dancing. Mr. Bone presided at the piano and a beautiful supper was ; served by the ladies. The home of Mrs, Seymour Bone is the next to be visited by the party. Sympathy is extended to Mr. W. Fulton whose father died recently at Ekctahuna. Mr. and Mrs. T. Rose have left on a motor tour to Gisborne. Miss Leila Wall is home again. Mrs. George Scott, who has been the guest of Mrs. J. Rose, has returned to the Capital city. Two weddings of local interest are to bo solemnized shortly—one on Juno 15th, and the other on July Gth.
