Mentally Deficient

(.To The Editor.) Sir, —Away back in the middle fifties I was a scholar in St. Paul’s Anglican Day • School, Knlghtsbridge, London. We had to read a chapter from the Bible every morning as an introduction, after repeating thd Lord’s Prayer. On Saturday mornings the elder scholars would attend at school to be instructed in Sunday’s lessons. Slips of paper and pencil* were provided for the taking of notes by the pupils. On Sunday afternoon* these pupils were expected to attend at church, and there were catechised by the minister—-“ Gone arc the days”—. ' The mentally deficient to-day are the class who wilfully shut the Bible > out of Protestant schools to the lowering of the morality of the rising generation. We condemn the Bolshevists for their hatred of any form of religion yet we are Indirectly doing the same thing in shutUng God's word out of our schools and lives. The ISlllla of God grind slowly, yet they are grinding all the time,' and in His own good time He will avenga Himself against this unrighteousness and grind us to powder. Racing, football and hockey are King to-day. These are the gods that brought us out of Egypt?—Yes! and will take us back into bondage before long. Yours, etc., H.B, V..:
