ODD AND ENDS
There are many ways of- using up odds and ends of cloth. Try an oldfashioned patch-work cushion square in now-fahsioned colour pieces, and see how charming the effect will be. The wondrous tints of the various materials make gorgeous medleys. The more we mix them the lovelier the finished thing will be. Small pieces of crepe do chine or georgette come in very _ handy for making, those little „slip-iir “fronts", worn with low-cut day gowns. Elaborate fronts can by combining georgette and .lace or crepe de, chine and ninon. So little material is needed that ,it is one of the' very, best ways of utilising remnants.
A .nearly dowdy frock of which one has tired can give fresh service by the addition of a set of collar and .a. jabot, Lace; is the popular, me-dlum,-for sets of this kind,, but if you have purchased and fine material in anyv’of - the newest colours, try converting it Into one of these sets for the tired frock. v .
The house-lover who likes new ideas .for brightening the home may use some of her remnants on her curtains.' Plain cream , casements or fipp ■ net or lace curtains look fresh .and .pretty if edged with plain coloured material like Chinese or Japanese kilk, or even with plain coloured lliien.: . Neat, strips a couple of inches .of- ~the.. .choice being, made ,of,!a.iemnantpWhich Wili. agree with otSer.'colours , in, the room. .
