PRACTICAL HELP FOR THE BLIND
RENDERED POSSIBLE BY PEARSON FUND. (Per Press Association)'. AUCKLAND,' Last Night At the annua! meeting of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, the chairman, Mr. H. B. Valle, referring to the Sir Arthur Pearson Memorial 1 Fund, said that it now amounted te £63,009. This revenue enabled them to give practical help to blind people all over the Dominion, financing them into businesses, trades, farms atid homes, and solving difficulties .which formerly have effectually prevented many a blind person from beeomtng established in independence. Their activities under this fund were 'legion, and the rcsutls were deeply gratifying. The administration of the director, Mr. Clutha Mackenzie, was praised by the Hon. George Powlds, reference being made to recent criticism. The two retiring members of the Beard ot Trustees, Messrs. H. E. Vaiio and F. W. Wake, were re-elected by an overwhelming majority. The result of the election was as follows: Vaile 104 votes. Wake 101, Morton and Aldis 17, Mrs. M. Dreaver 13. Mr. Vaile was unanimously re-elected chairman of the Board,
