PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ANNUAL FAIR. ) (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) The annual fair in connection with rlio Presbyterian Church was held in the public hall on Saturday afternoon and evening. Those In charge of the arrangements had been busily engaged during the past few weeks andjhad left nothing to chance in anticipation of a busy time. The attendance at both sessions was not up to that of the previous years, but nevertheless good business was done by the stallholders and in tho end the takings did not fall very much short of past fairs. Those in charge of the stalls and competitions were: Kitchen stall, Mesdames Banks, Watt and Miss Watt: cake, Misses K. Murray and Lawson; sweets, Mrs. A. M. Thomson and Miss M. Beard; work, Mesdames Calder, Beard and A. B. C. Shannon; produce, Mrs. W. N. Ferguson and Miss Jensen: tea-rooms, Mesdames Craighead, Jones, Lawson. Kraiger and Shapleskl. Nail-driving competition; Mrs. Gray
and Mr. Jones. Bagatelle competition: Mr. J. Gardner. During the evenings competitions were held, the results being as follows; Peas in bottle (No. Ij, Betty Barry; buttons in bottle, Mrs. Calder; pages in book. Hector Burne; bagatelle. Miss M. Pettigrew; weight of cake, D. McKay and Geo. Wraith, a tie (both guessing the correct weight, 16£lbs). Peas in bottle (No. 2), Miss M. Bartlett; nail-driving, Tolley Brazier. The produce unsold at the stalls was disposed of at auction and realised a fair sum. Much credit is due to all those who assisted at the fair and to the hon. secretary and treasurer (Mrs. W. N. Ferguson).
