A PARTICULARLY KEEN SALE

[Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The SecOud Christchurch wool sale of the season opened tonight when 8000 bales were offered, and all hut 14 sold. Thera wfts a particularly keen sale, values being Id per lb better than at the sales immediately preceding, and 2d better than tho Christchurch December sale. All buying points were represented in Competition, Bradford being particularly active. Top prices according to description were: Merino. 21]d (in December lOJd); Corricclalc halfbred ,21 Jd (203 d); threc-quartcr-bred Kijd (IGJtl); crossbred lfl|tl (13Jcl); Corriedale prices 1(1-}d. (153 d); halfbred pieces 17]d (17d);. The point about the night’s auction, however, is that a heavy proportion of the halfbred and Corriedale offering ranged from 17 Jd to 19(1, compared to lf»d to I7d at the last sale, with crossbred from 11 [d to 13d, as against lOd to lid. The sale will be continued tomorrow.
