SHOOTING ACCIDENT

SANDON BOY LOSES LEG. A serious shooting accident occurred near Martinborough on Christmas morning, wherein Kenneth Port, aged years, son of Mr Win. Port, of Sandon, lost a leg. Young Port left Palmerston North about midnight on Friday for Martinborough, cn route to White Rock on a deer-shooting expedition. It is reported that the gun of one of the party was accidentally discharged, the pellets entering young Port’s leg and injuring it to such an extent that It had to he amputated. He now lies in the Greytown Hospital in a critical condition.
