CONTROL BOARD FAVOURED. RESOLUTION BY FARMERS. .GISBORNE, December 13. A well-attended meeting of farmers passed a resolution favouring tho sotting up of a wool board to reduce the cost of marketing, control the sales, and empioy valuers of wool in New Zealand.■> Resolutions favouring the adoption of a different system of election for the Meat Board, and the prohibition of overseas companies owning freezing works in New Zealand, were carried unanimously. The Minister for Lands (tho Hon. A. D. McLeod), who was present, said that without expressing any personal opinion as to tho merits of the proposal for a wool board, be considered that the opinions of the majority of the farmers should rule. Regarding tho Meat Board, ho was sure that co-operative marketing was coming, but this must grow gradually, and any attempt to rush things would end in disaster. They should remember that tho Government could only go as far as the public would allow.
