To The Editor.) Sir, —Will you please answer the following questions through the “Daily Times”: (1) If I am called as a witness in a slander case must I give evidence if I do not wish to ? (2) Can X demand my expenses before X will give evidence ?.—I am, etc., RANGE [(1) If a subpoena has been issued the attendance of a witness at Court is compulsory: (2) If a witness is domiciled a distance of one hundred miles or more from the court he may demand his actual travelling expenses before proceeding to give evidence. — Ed.
