SOVIET BREACH NOT YET HEALED
Trotsky Still Under Cloud of Suspicion
SUSPECTED LEANINGS TOWARDS PROLETARIAT [By Electric Cable —Copyright,] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] MOSCOW, Dec. 12. Concord In Soviet circles has apparently not been achieved by Trotsky’s and Zinovleff’s written recantations In October.’ The account In the official newspaper ITavada of a meeting of the Communist Internationale executive on Thursday, shows that Trotsky went out of his way to describe the Soviets as an integral part of world capitalist economies. Sialin, leader of the party, reported that Trotsky and Zinovieft, as well as the oppositionists in Franco and Germany, bad gone close to destroying the existing party. They had actually accomplished fusion with the leading enemies of the proletariat. The Pravada describes Trotsky as Hie commander of reserves ready at the first opportunity to lead the oppositionists in ail countries, which is gross disloyalty and a rude breach of their promise to desist from such activities. BANDITS ACTIVE IN RUSSIA. SHORT SHRIFT WHEN CAUGHT. RIGA. Dec. 12. As a sequel to the special methods employed to fight the increasing hooliganism the Soviet police organisation Ogpu announces that 14 bandits were shot without trial. Another Ogpu rounded up nine gangs concerned in 47 armed robberies in Moscow.
