It is reported from Bulolo by wireless that a fresh tragedy near Edle Creek was discovered when the bodies o;E two native carriers were found in a ravine near a small native village named Kabaui .approximately two days’ journey from Bulolo, on the way to Salamoa. The bodies were shockingly mutilated, one almost beheaded. This fresh atrocity will make it still more difficult for the gold seekers to secure means of transport for their belongings. It is thought that the carriers were murdered by hostile local natives. During the past few days it is alleged that spears have been thrown at other carriers, several of whom have mysteriously disappeared. No trace of them can be found and fears are entertained for their safety. A squad of native police under a white police master has been despatched to the scene of the murder.
