SOLICITOR SUSPENDED

ALLEGED PROFESSIONAL (MISCONDUCT. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Last Night. On the ground that John Munro Gillies had been guilty of professional misconduct as a solicitor, application was made to His Honor Mr. Justice Sim to-day that ho show cause why ho should not be struck off the solicitor’s roll. Mr White, for Gillies, said that the latter had been absent from the office ill for some months. Though on examination many items would be crcditdd to Gillies, there must bo a considerable deficit and Gillies was not opposing the motion. Mr. Callan, for the law Society asked that the matter be reserved for the Appeal Court rand that Gillies In the meantime be suspended from practice. The judge took this course.
