SPLINTERLESS GLASS

The attention which is being paid to glass which will not splinter when fractured during a collision Is shown by the fact that there are now three firms able to supply glass of this special texture (says the “Autocar”). For the latest it is claimed that by reason of the great improvement which has been made in the manufacture of this material the now glass can be produced at a reasonable price. A sample shows that the two sheets of glass which are welded together with a sheet of special material are edged by a compound which is almost invisible, and that the glass itself is very clear and white, bearing no tra.ee that there is any special substance between the two panes. When struck by a heavy blow the glass merely cracks, 'out. no part of it falls away even under repeated blows.
