GERMANS STRENGTHENING FORTRESSES
BREACH OP VERSAILLES TREATY. [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, Nov. 2. "It will undoubtedly give pause to those urging the withdrawal of the Allied Control Commission," says the “Daily Mail's” Berlin correspondent when reporting- on the discovery of 54 enormous secretly constructed reinforced concrete underground chambers strengthening the fortress of Konigsberg in East Prussia. Subterranean chambers were also discovered near the Prussian fortress of Kustrin. "The work is so new that the material used is still moist and (1m approaches arc so cleverly hidden it is impossible to detect them. This is a clear breach of the Versailles Treaty.”
