French Police Catch Spanish Conspirators

The police have arrested SS Spaniards and Italians in Perpignan suspected of belonging to a revolutionary organisation intending to enter Spain disguised as tourists. Field telephones and military equipment wore found among their baggage. DEEP-LAID SCHEME GOES WRONG, (Received Wednesday 11.15 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 3. A later message from Paris states that seventeen persons of Spanish, English and Italian nationality were arrested at a railway station in Miilas, eleven miles from Perpignan. Two Spaniards with bombs in their possession fled. The leader of the revolutionary band is stated to be Joso Carillon, born 1902 in Barcelona. At present ho is foreman of a sugar refinery living in Boulogne-Sur-Scine. It is reported ho has been in relation with Francisco Hagia, a former colonel In the Spanish army and one time member of the Cortes (Parliament). It is alleged that on leaving Paris Carillon received from a man named Raxon Munster 27,000 francs and an envelope containing insturctions. which he was not to road until he reached the frontier

The conspirator’s plan was to assemble at Estagel, Eataillo and Miilas whence they were to take train To Villefranche, whence the frontier. On arrival in Spain they were to launch a revolution movement'.
