BIG ORGANISATION EFFORT. OBJECTIVE IS 50,000 MEMBERS.
With the ultimate object of putting the Now Zealand Farmers’ Union on on effective basis, Mr L. FT. McAlpino. Dominion organiser of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, will spend a few weeks in Wanganui interviewing and lecturing settlers. says the “Chronicle." For the past four years Mr W. J. Poison and Colonel Pow have left no stone unturned on behalf of the farmer and his organisation, and today the membership of the. Union is 30,00(1. It is the hope of Mr McAI pine that the membership will be 50.000 before he concludes his mission.
T'p to the present Mr McAlpinc has met with a wonderful response, and lie expects to met with further success in the Wanganui district. While in Hawke’s Bay Mr McAI pine enrolled nearly 400 new members, and bis stay in that district, proved more than effective. The campaign commenced IS months ago. and at that time the Fnion was but 7000 strong. The achievement to date speaks for itself. .
