The inquiry into the validity of the recent poll, where the ratepayers voted to discontinue the tramways, was continued before Mr. Bevy, S.M. Mr. W. D. Lysnar represented the petitioners, "ho alleged irregularities, and Mr. Gurnard appeared for respondents. The day was occupied in legal argument on whether certain formalities were precedent to the taking of the poll, or precedent to the obtaining of the Order-in-Courioil revoking (he I.r.imway orders. Decision was reserved. Mr. Lysnar also contended that the poli should have been taken under the J'Llfi Local Polls Elections Act, which c'arpe into force on September a, one day prior to the poll. Mr. Burtfeml contended that this raised points of both fact and law. Decision on the point wag reserved. The proceedings have boon ad- I journed sine die.
