NGAKUTA HELD UP.
FIREMEN'S LAST-MINUTE DEMANDS.

The Ngakuta was to have sailed at seven o’clock to-night for Rarotonga, but at sailing time the stokehold staff demanded that three additional trimmers be engaged. The Union Company refused and the firemen would not take the steamer to sea. They walked ashore when Captain Gray was about to take the Ngakuta into the stream and as the sailors refused to let go the mooring lines while the firemen were on shores her departure was postponed in> definitely.
