(From Onr Own Correspondent.) Croquet, 1 ' The final round of the Horowhenua ; inter-club matches was played at | Levin on Tuesday last, between Shan- : non and Foxton. Following are the : scores (Shannon being mentioned first): — Singles; Mrs. Brown (5) defeated Mrs. McMurray (6), / 26—22; Mrs. Mason (12) lost to Mrs. Moore (2), 13—26. Doubles: Mesdames Aim (12) and McLaughlan (12) lost to Mesdames Pearson (61) and Parker (7), 9—26; Mesdames Watterston (12) and Roche (12) lost to Mesdames Owen (6) and Bryant (8J), 13—26. The aggregate scores were as follow, Levin proving the winners:— Levin, 409; Foxton, 362; Otaki, 349; Shannon, 286; Manakau, 189. The matches were favoured with good weather throughout and proved interesting and enjoyable. Levin Club, where all the matches were played, is to be complimented on its greens and the able manner in which it catered for the visitors. The final for the .Wednesday 30minute tournament was played yesterday. The scores were:—Mrs. Bryant and Miss Wanklyn, 21; Mesdames Woods and Ball, 3; Owen and Huntley, 21; Perreau and Moore, 11. Mrs. Owen won the A competition with 681 points, Mrs. Bryant second with 62. Mrs. Ball won the B competition, ■72 i points, Mrs. Moore being swfiond with 70. This week’s handicap matches resulted as follow; —Mrs. Woods (31) defeated Miss Wanklyn (81), 26—21; Mrs. Woods (31) defeated Mrs. McMurray (2J), 26—20; Mrs. Owen (21) defeated Miss Wanklyn (81), 26—22.
