In the Commons Civil List estimates for 1920, the Dominions Office vote provides for £3500 expenses for Mr. Amery’s possible visit to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada and South Africa. The Labour amendment in favour of the rejection of the Electricity Bill and urging nationalisation was negatived by 325 votes to 127, and the Bill was read a second time, after th« rejection of a proposal to refer it to a select committee, whereon Labour voted with the Ministry.
