Dealers are being asked 4s 3d a pair for rabbits owing to the huge demand for skins, and so busy have trappers become (that warrens are rapidly being worked out. Supplies even then do not equal the demand. In 1025 more than 20,000,000 slugs were sent to England. The breeding of tame rabbit's has also been taken up seriously as a definite business, especially the Drue Beueren, the skins of which command 4s each. Angoras are also popular for their wool, which is worth 30s a lb.
Rabbit breeding: is, in facft, likely to develop into an important industry.
